Week2は1人の人物によるナレーションです。

まずはウォーミングアップとして、音声を聞いてみましょう。

Do you have a habit of reading books?
(あなたには本を読む習慣がありますか？)

How many books did you read last year?
(あなたは昨年、何冊の本を読みましたか？)

In this age of the Internet, our opportunities to read books are decreasing.
(インターネットの時代と言われる今、私たちが本を読む機会は減少しています。)

However, books have various effects on us that we cannot get from the Internet.
(しかし、本にはインターネットでは得られない、様々な作用を私たちにもたらします。)

One of the major benefits of reading is that it provides us with systematic knowledge.
(読書の代表的なメリットは体系的な知識を得られることです。)

Let’s say you are suffering from back pain.
(あなたが、腰痛に悩んでいるとしましょう。)

If you look up how to deal with back pain on the Internet, you will find a lot of information.
(インターネットで腰痛の対処法を調べれば、色々な情報が出てきます。)

However, the information is often fragmented.
(しかし、それらの情報は往々にして断片的です。)

You can only learn a little bit about how to solve the problem.
(腰痛の解決策についてほんの少しのことしか知ることでできません。)

On the other hand, what if you could get information about back pain from a book?
(一方、もし腰痛に関する情報を書籍で得られたらどうなるでしょうか？)

You will be able to get more in-depth knowledge.

Reading books will broaden your skills and insights.
